Who are the greatest football players of all time? I know by the mention of this question many people would either say diego Maradona or Pele to which I agree with but to be sincere there are indeed other notable great football players who have made their mark on the football field and in this article I will be listing a collection of players whom I believe make up the top greatest football players of all time.

This list doesn’t in any way include the likes of Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and many other great football players of today simply because they are still playing and whether they make into this list would only be clear when they retire and hang up their boots. That would be the perfect time when we can reflect back on their football career and make a judgment on whether they qualify to be termed as among the greatest football players in history.

love the list! You've covered all the candidates, although there will be some friendly disagreements: Ferenc Puskas, John Charles, Bobby Charlton maybe? But I agree about current players, their time will come.

Good hub, a great list of players. Definitely missing Bobby Charlton though! Would love to see you name you're top 50! Also another name i may of included is Ronaldo Luiz Nazario Da Lima otherwise known as fat Ronaldo, got to be one of the most lethal strikers in front of goal in history. But like you said you only named eight players so would definitely be intrigued to see an expansion to your list.
